Unregulated Entity

The term 'Unregulated Entity' as it applies to the area of energy can be defined as ' For the purpose of EIA's data collection efforts, entities that do not have a designated franchised service area and that do not file forms listed in the Code of Federal Regulations, Title 18, Part 141, are considered unregulated entities. This includes qualifying cogenerators, qualifying small power producers, and other generators that are not subject to rate regulation, such as independent power producers'.
